Description of the problem | Interstate highway driving at highway speed 70mph up an incline or hilly area would cause the 2011 crv engine to hesitate accelerating, causing a high rpm rev but no speed increase, i. E. The engine would struggle to keep the same speed requiring the driver to drive at lower speeds like 60mph to avoid the excessive rpm. This potentially is a danger to other vehicles on the highway interstate. Honda is already aware of this and has issued a technical service bulletin #10-077 for dealers to update the pcm pgm-fi software to the latest version. However given 2011 vehicles are no longer in warranty, the owner is often forced to pay dealers 1 full hour of diagnostics fee instead of the 0. 3 hour flat rate labor outlined in honda's tsb for in-warranty vehicles. |
