Description of the problem | Engine light came on and message said emissions system problem and the headlights got high and then low and then high and then low. I brought the car to a honda dealership said that rodents chewed the engine main wiring harness and would cost $1,000 to replace. If the wiring harness in the engine is not protected that could easily start a fire after it has been chewed by rodents. I do not understand why this harness is not protected against rodents. I live in a condo with a private parking spot. I have been here 17 years and never had this problem. I bought the car a month ago. It is possible it could have happened at the honda dealership but no way of knowing. The bottom line is the car should be recalled and the wiring harness covered with a protection of some sort. I am retired so i hardly use the car. It is parked most of the time in my parking spot. |
