Description of the problem | The plastic detent button on the transmission gear selector broke. It is spring loaded and when it broke the button shot out onto the floor beneath the drivers seat. While it is possible to shift the car into neutral (from drive) in this condition, you cannot shift the transmission into reverse or park making this a potentially dangerous situation. I was told by my dealer that this was the number one problem with the 2017 crv. The part was replaced for free but i am concerned that it will break again. When this occurred the vehicle was stationary, with my foot on the brake as i changed from park to drive. |
