Description of the problem | The transmission shifter button fell off when the vehicle was in drive and my spouse could not release the brake in order to collect the button and place the vehicle in park she had to pull off the road, turn off the engine and then find the button on the floor in order to resolve the issue. Honda seems to have a taken a very casual response to this issue which should be treated as a serious concern. From all of the research and press i reviewed regarding this problem, the answer is to use a pair of pliers to change gears or glue the plastic piece in place. I believe this recall should be mandated versus take it to the dealer so he can glue it back in. This vehicle was a considerable amount of money spent not to have a transmission work as intended. |
