Description of the problemI loaned my car to a relative for three days and when it was returned i detected a fuel smell in cabin when outside air was selected. On the heated. I am a retired aircraft mechanic and know my way around engines. I did an internet search and found a honda tech line summary article ats 160714 version 2 ( loose and blown out spark plugs due to failed factory torque). Number two plug had a vibration and was loose, causing the fuel blow by. The spark plug could not have blown out due to the coil holding it in place and engine performance was fine with no codes. The car has 38,000 miles. This undetected failure would cause the passengers to breath gas fumes for an extended period of time. The dealer claims no knowledge of this tech summary. Vehicle safety has made great advancements in my lifetime thanks to your agency's work , and it can improve with the public's help. Breathing gasoline is a serious hazard . Health risks like this need to be addressed as seriously as mechanical issues.
