Description of the problem | Seat belt malfunction, 2007 honda odyssey, far back passenger seat belt locked up around child in a twisted manner slowly crushing the passenger. Seat belt could not be loosened. Child and parent tried to retract seat belt by raising child only resulting in tighter seatbelt and the suspension of child in seatbelt. Visual - child head is at head rest level and waist of child about 6-7 inches from top of seatbelt retraction unit. Child is in a back arch trying to keep legs touching seat to relive pressure from strap. Solution - parent was unable to get seatbelt to release and efforts resulted in tighter seatbelt. Parent had to utilize pocket knife to cut the seat belt strap. Side note - internet search shows others running into same problem. |
