Description of the problem | When i took my 2011 sonata in for the motor recall, i was told my motor was ok. On july 11, 2017 my 2011 sonata limited suddenly stopped running while driving about 55 mph and stranded me in the middle of a busy four lane highway. I had 146 thousand on the odometer when this happened. As it was out of warranty, i had it towed to my regular mechanic. A few days later he informed me the motor completely seized. How can this be as hyundai assured me my motor was ok and i change the oil every five thousand miles with pure synthetic? I think it is one hell of a coincidence that you had a recall on that motor, you found mine to be ok, and then it suffers a complete and absolute failure. I paid my mechanic $4602. 05 to replace the motor with a used motor that has 48 thousand miles on it, as i could not afford a new car. This is my last hyundai or kia. |
