Description of the problem | Their is a very noticeable delay in acceleration of he vehicle after pressing the accelerator. Also, on several occasions pressing the accelerator results in the engine rpm's increasing but no acceleration of the vehicle. This has resulted in several "close calls" when merging into traffic or starting from a traffic signal. These issues occur when pressing the accelerator pedal to accelerate the vehicle from a stop or to increase speed when the vehicle is moving slowly. The issue has happened multiple times with the latest on 10/24/2019. At almost every scheduled service visit i tell the hyundai service representative about the problem and am always told that it is simply a turbo lag. The issue is dangerous as you never know when it will occur. |
