Description of the problem | All four door locks as well as the hatch lock ceased to work properly (i. E. Would not lock or unlock when the automatic lock button was pushed.) told that it was an actuator problem, and that all would need to be replaced (at great expense). This is an obvious safety issue. First, with children in the car, doors could not be locked or unlocked quickly in the case of an emergency. Also, when driving alone, security of the car was likewise compromised. Also troubling was that the sound of doors locking would still be heard, but the doors were not actually locked--thus leading drivers to think their car was secure when in fact it was not. This is a prevalent problem with these suv's and should be considered for a component recall. |
