Description of the problem | I bought my son a nissan infiniti g35 s make 2007. When driving, all of a sudden he noticed battery light on, brake light on and power steering quit working. Turning the steer was extremely hard, much much harder than a nonpower steering. Fortunately he has strong hands and is used to driving an old nonpower steering vehicle, hence he was able to still drive it. Most elderly, or females would end up with an accident, when at high speed, they can not turn the steering wheel. Especially if it happens without any warning at high speed. I took it to dealer. Found drive belt tensioner out of alignment with pulleys. Drive belt coming apart. Dealer replaced drive belt and drive belt tensioner for free. Within warranty time. But i think it is a safety hazard if it happens again to him or anybody. Hence i am notifying your agency so you can investigate and keep track. |
