Description of the problem	When taking my 2007 infiniti g35 coupe in for service, both the tech and myself noticed a bad pop when opening the hood of the car. The tech stated that he has seen this many times with other infiniti cars especially those that are the same model. He explained to me what was causing this issue. The hinges are corroding where they attach to the body of the car. Because of this, when the hood is opened, the torque from opening the hood is causing the hinges to bend. In addition to the hinges corroding and bending, when the hood is being opened, it is causing the entire hood to sink lower than it should which results in it damaging the fenders. The hood rubs against the fenders causing them to bend and chip. After listening to the tech, i did some research online and found that there are many people who have had this happen to them. There are a lot of forums and online articles that discuss this issue. I called infiniti to discuss this issue with them and they said that there is no recall for this issue. Even the tech said that this should be a recall item because hinges, especially those connecting the hood to the car, should never do this. I am writing in hopes of getting some sort of action taken to get this issue addressed by infiniti and having them make it a recall item.
