Description of the problem | As i was driving normally, my sunroof exploded outwards. I was not actuating the sunroof in any way at the time and the interior shade was closed. A large, central portion of the glass was propelled into the air and rained back down on the car. It sounded like a shotgun right next to my ear. I saw glass from the sunroof sliding down the rear window. What remains of the sunroof is an outer ring of glass that is slanted upwards towards the center, like a volcano, proving that the glass exploded outwards. I have a dash cam in my car that recorded exactly what was happening at the time, including audio. The video shows nothing that could have impacted the sunroof and an extremely loud bang as the sunroof exploded on its own. |
