Description of the problem | Consumer states abs instrument panel light was on all the time and the power brakes were not working but that the base manual brakes seemed to be working slightly, the brakes were inspected by mechanic and consumer was advised that the anitlock brake system hydraulic control unit had experienced excessive brake actuator piston seal wear and that caused the actuator pump motor to deteriorate, mechanic informed consumer there was a recall for brakes and to take vehicle to delaership, consumer contacted dealership and they advised him that the work had been performed already and they were not going to do anything else, mechanic also called dealership and tried to explain but was told that recall did not apply to brake system. *jb |
