Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 1991 jeep cherokee. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the anti-lock braking system sensor illuminated and an extended distance was required to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who refused to repair the vehicle under nhtsa campaign number: 96v260000 (service brakes). The dealer stated that the recall remedy was completed in 1998 and the vehicle would not be eligible for the lifetime warranty listed in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 146,780. The consumer stated the abs light and a red brake light illuminated and the power brake function was lost. The consumer was informed the problem was the master air pump. The consumer learned a the issue in question was recalled and the recall was performed on the vehicle in 1998.
