Description of the problem | While going up a steep hill,it makes a thump/bang when shifting between 4th and 5th gear automatically. It does not happen all the time. You can actually feel a vibration through the floor boards when it happens. It also hesitates slightly when it occurs. The noise it loud enough that even if the radio is on it can me heard. My wife in the passenger seat also made comment that she heard the noise and felt the vibration. Auto transmissions are not supposed to shift like this. I was told recently that is characteristic of the vehicle to shift ruff between those gears but this is more then just ruff shifting. It also accelerates on it s own when you leave off the gas on it's own and not slow dpown lie it should |
