Description of the problem | The transmission bangs intermittently in varying degrees if intensity from noticeable to extreme. When the bang is extreme it feels like the vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. It seems to occur in the lower gears when the vehicle is hot and cold. I drive harder than my wife and the banging occurs regardless of the driver. Unable to identify any common factors other than occurring in the lower gears while up shifting and down shifting. I have brought is in for service 3 times. Each of the first two times they were unable to dubolicate the issue. The last visit on may 24, 2017 the head service technician acknowledged the bang during a test drive. He said he would order a new transmission but first had to notify chrysler. Today we were notified they had to first replace the valve body and were not replacing the transmission. |
