Description of the problem | While rolling at low speeds, it can take several seconds for the jeep to downshift when power is applied. This is a well documented issue with the 9-speed transmissions in the fca vehicles, and we have had the jeep to the dealership four different times complaining about how unsafe this is. When the power is needed, one of these days, it may delay too long, and we could get in a wreck. A person should not be afraid to drive their vehicle because they don't feel that it is reliable enough to actually accelerate when the pedal is pressed. Fca has recently announced that it will be replacing the dog clutch in the transmissions with a standard clutch to fix this issue going forward, but they still need to be responsible for making the cars they have already sold work reliably. This happened regularly, so there is no single event date that i can easily state. |
