Description of the problem | This 2015 jeep cherokee has the 2-speed transfer unit, and was sold as flat towable, and manual so states that fact. The manufacturer made the power steering system electric rather than mechanical. In 2017 after many complaints about the cherokee not tracking while being towed behind the motorhome and causing a severe left to right wobble behind the motorhome, jeep issued a revision to the owner's manual (s-13). It states that a flat-tow wiring kit should be installed, but jeep wants the part and labor to install this kit to be paid by the jeep owner, not by the manufacturer. This is a safety issue and should be addressed under a recall. On a straight road this wobble happened twice to me and almost caused me to loose control of my motorhome, not to mention damage to my jeep. |
