Description of the problem | Driving along on a rural road, no traffic around me. Coming down a hill and out of a curve, hit a slight bump in the road when sunroof glass exploded, sounding like a shot gun going off inside the car. Glass came down alll over the passenger compartment. Sunroof is visibly pushed up and out of the roof with no impacts from exterior. Dealer is telling me this is not covered under the factory warranty despite the fact that there was no external force which caused the damage. They say that pressure can build up inside the car when the a/c is running and this can sometimes happen, which seems indicative of a known issue. I looked all through the owner's manual and find no reference to the possibility this could occur with normal use of the a/c. |
