Description of the problem | Shifter service warning continuously pops up on the dash board while all lights blink red on the stick shifter. This happens daily, sometimes the car will not shift out of it's current gear while in motion which is a massive liability and danger to everyone on the road. I had the shifter replaced at 27,000 miles and the warning light returned again at 40,000 miles. There is now an "electrical" wiring issue. After research, it appears as though this is a manufacturing issue and certain aspects were recalled but not the entire shifter. If i were traveling at a higher rate of speed when the shifter locked up i would be dead. Each time the warning appears, you must pull over within a minute or so before it locks up, turn the car off and restart it. The message disappears and the car operates normal for a short time. This needs to be investigated. |
