Description of the problem | Air conditioner stopped working. Upon further investigation, mechanic informed me the problem originated from a faulty evaporator system. Currently, the repair estimates is over $2000 due to replace the evaporator, compressor and freon. Based on jeep blogs, it has been identified that jeep has been aware of this faulty evaporator problem, but will not take responsibility. Per jeep blog, another grand cherokee owner wrote: dealer's service writer immediately told me that 85% of the time when the a/c goes out in this vehicle it's the evaporator inside the car behind the dash. Upon further examination by the repair technician that's what needed to be replaced. I asked if they replace the evaporator with the same part and he said no, they now use a different sku replacement evaporator. Obviously, jeep is aware of this problem and has made changes to fix it. |
