Description of the problem | At 28,000 miles my jeep cherokee had the service shifter light come on periodically and it would just disappear when the car was restarted. No one was able to research the error because it would not remain on and there was no documentation in the manual on how to resolve. At 40,000 miles the error became more frequent and at 42000 miles it became constant. I took it to the dealer today and they said it was a shifter component and they were ordering a bezel to install at a very expensive cost. Every jeep forum shows that many people are having the same exact issue and i think it should be investigated. |
