Description of the problem	Tl* the contact called on behalf of the driver who leases a 2017 jeep cherokee. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled and the service shifter warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was able to be coasted to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to merrick dodge chrysler jeep (located at 3614 sunrise hwy, wantagh, ny 11793, (516) 868-4400) where it was diagnosed that the battery and the shifter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to merrick dodge chrysler jeep where it was diagnosed that the software needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired, but the failures recurred five times. The manufacturer was notified of the failures twice and provided case numbers: [xxx] and [xxx].
