Description of the problem | 2019 jeep cherokee limited 4 x 4, in service on 4/2019, with 13,700 miles as of 10/27/19. In last two days steering wheel is jerking in my hands, as though the lane sense feature is trying to bring vehicle into center of lane. That feature is disengaged and is never used. The jerk is slight but perceptible and always seems to be in a left to right motion. Since i live in country and travel roads with speeds at 65+, great concern that this issue may lead to a failure of the steering system or steering wheel itself. Had a similar issue many years ago with a ford vehicle, which resulted in a recall after the steering wheel on my vehicle actually came off the column and spilled bearings on the floor. |
