Description of the problem | Bought car in 1/20 with 2. 4l tigershark engine. Using excessive amount of oil; garage did not diagnose and car is now at jeep dealer. We had oil changes completed as required and still had to add oil between changes. At the last garage visit they had to add 2. 5 quarts of oil. No oil light came on at any time. When car started running rough and wanted to stall we took immediately to garage. They say we need a rebuilt or new engine because of the oil consumption. We are working seniors with only one vehicle! A $3,000 bill is ridiculous especially since we found that this engine has had the same problem since 2012! |
