Description of the problem | 1st the sensor for "key not detected" displayed. I had it fixed at the dealership. Shortly after, it returned but this time all the sensors on the dash lit up and the vehicle transmission dropped in gear. Almost got rear ended by a truck on the highway. The speedometer shut down and the wipers turned on. I pulled over and turned off the vehicle. Once it finally restarted, it would not get off the park gear. Finally after 4 attempts it restarted and i was able to drive home. It died in my driveway. Would not restart . I had it towed to the dealer. Its been there for approx. 2 weeks. They said they cant find the problem and have called they're techs at they're corporate head quarter's to assist them. According to many forums on line this seems to be a common problem. This should be a recall. The dealer admitted to finding a melted part. This is a costly repair that they claim my warranty will not cover! My vehicle dramatically dropped in speed while driving on a major highway. If that's not considered a safety issue and the fact that there is an obvious fire hazard with the dash or the fuse box is insane!! There is a high potential for an electrical fire to break out due to a faulty design. The vehicle is electronic and the transmission has features that changes the operation of the vehicle while driving! I would like to see anyone drive in front of a tractor trailer on a major highway and suddenly drop the transmission to 1st gear (high rpm and dramatically drops speed) and see how all of the sudden you can create a major accident like i almost did! This needs to be looked into. |
