Description of the problem | My vehicle, periodically, would struggle to start, and got worse over time. However, on nov. 8th it never started, even after repeated attempts. After investigation i discovered that the totally integrated power module (tipm) had a built in fuel pump relay that many other owners complained had failed. So like them i tested the tipm and did discover that the relay had failed, luckily in the open position. I called my local dealership and asked about the 14v-530 recall to add an external relay to fix this issue but i did not find the relay, even though they confirmed it had been completed. This was, luckily, for me only an inconvenient issue, but had it failed while driving the stalled engine could have resulted in damage to my vehicle and/or others and the persons within. |
