Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2011 jeep grand cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start without warning. Randy wise auto mall (4350 lennon rd, flint, mi 48507, 1 (810) 230-2500) diagnosed that the alternator assembly failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer also stated that the vehicle was excluded from nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v435000 (electrical system) and 14v634000 (electrical system). The dealer further stated that the battery and ecm were damaged. The contact had to obtain a rental vehicle due to the condition of his vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and confirmed that the vehicle was excluded from the recall campaigns. The contact was waiting on a response from the manufacturer to determine the guidelines to repair the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000. bf consumer stated dealership tested the battery on january 31,2019 and found the battery was bad and replaced the battery. On her way to work february 13,2019, the vehicle was making a strange noise, she made it to work and turned the ignition off, consumer then tried to start the vehicle and it wouldn't start. The dealership came to her work and attempted to jumpstart the vehicle several times but were not successful. Vehicle was towed back to the same dealer for a diagnosis and found the battery was bad.
