Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owned a 2011 jeep grand cherokee. The contact stated that upon leaving work, she had noticed white smoke had begun to emit from around her passenger sun visor which had then led to a fire. The contact initially tried to extinguish the fire herself; however, the fire grew after each attempt. The contact then called that authorities and the fire department extinguished the fire. The vehicle was totaled at the scene and was then towed to an independent tow yard. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. A fire report was filed at the scene. The dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000. |
