Description of the problem | I was driving on the highway to work in the passing lane, when the rpm's went way up and then way down. I heard a loud noise coming from under the hood and loss of power from engine. No engine light indicator was on before this happened or any sort of indication this was about to occur. I pulled over and had it towed to the dealership. The dealership indicated that the crankshaft was broken internally and that this is a defect of workmanship as i can show records of every oil change on this vehicle. The dealership is offering no good will and chrysler refuses to help as the mileage is 114,000. I still owe close to $13,000 on this vehicle and to replace the engine it is going to cost $7,800. |
