Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2011 jeep grand cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle shifted into fourth gear independently and stalled after an inclined hill with check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was unable to restart. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated a case has been assigned however it was not guaranteed due to the vehicle was out of the 36 month warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000. |
