Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2011 jeep grand cherokee. The contact indicated that the key failed to turn in the ignition and prevented the vehicle from starting. The dealer was notified of the failure. After inspecting the vehicle, the technician diagnosed that the fuel pump and brake booster needed to be replaced. However, the parts were not available in order to repair the vehicle under nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000 (fuel system) and nhtsa campaign number: 14v154000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic). The dealer would not release the vehicle back to the contact until the manufacturer provided a remedy to repair both recalls due to the potential safety issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. |
