Description of the problem | I have had vacuum leak (hissing air noise)in brake power boost for quite some time. Part is on national b/o from jeep--not due in until 3/4/14(date keeps being pushed back), because so many people (over 500)have same problem. I was driving down hill at end of my street and as i applied brakes, they did not work. I pressed as hard as i could but car just drove through intersection. I pumped them several times and they finally came back. If another vehicle had been coming, we could have been killed. I do not understand why ntsb has not issued recall for something as dangerous as this, that directly affects driver's safety. |
