Description of the problemChrysler has a recall number14v-154. I have tried to get the recall taken care off at several dealer ships in the greater detroit area w/o success due to missing parts. About two weeks ago the brake booster on my jeep went suddenly out and i barely avoided an accident. I estimate that the loss of brake power is around 80-90%. Many times i am towing a boat and if that would have been the case when the brake booster went out i could not have avoided crashing into the car ahead of me. The re-call notice is taking the issue way to lightly. " the driver may be required to apply additional application force to apply the brakes during sub freezing driving conditions" the fact it with all the force i could apply the car barely came to a stop. No warning about to avoid towing. And certainly the temperature where way above sub freezing. Since the incident i have my car in the shop and as of today nobody is able to tell me when they will receive parts. This issue is huge and chrysler has to understand the big potential of fatal or badly injured crashes especially when considering the towing capability of that vehicle. I am also sure that chrysler is selling new cars which have the new part in question installed instead of taking care of current owner how are in danger losing their brakes while driving daily. I am also convinced that cars returned on lease will have the new components installed so they can be re-sold. I hope this complain finds the right ear and makes chrysler put a higher priority and urgency on this matter. At the moment they see it to lightly.
