Description of the problem | The passenger side active headrest restraint on my 2015 jeep grand cherokee deployed while parked in my garage unoccupied. I took the vehicle to a local chrysler dealer - they checked the computer and headrest and determined that the vehicle was not in an accident and a failed locking mechanism is what caused it to deploy. The dealer agreed to contact chrysler on my behalf for a resolution. I was told by the dealer that chrysler agreed to pay for half the cost of the repair - approximately $350. I agreed to pay the $350 only if they replaced both headrests which they declined. I am currently driving my vehicle with a defective headrest - hoping the second headrest does not fail also. |
