Description of the problem | Gear selector lever is very difficult to ensure that the operator has selected the proper gear. What was an intuitive function in almost all vehicles is in the vehicle now requires too much time to make visual checks that proper gear selection is made. Its possible to shift up into what you think is park, only to find the vehicle still in reverse. Inadvertent bumps of the shift lever can take the transmission out of "d" drive selection and place the vehicle into "s" sport shift mode without the driver being aware. The operator over time will adapt, but occasionally still error at times. An overly complex device for what is and should be a simple function. It is entirely possible to get out of this vehicle thinking your car is in park, when its in reverse. |
