Description of the problem | As the owner of a 2015 jeep grand cherokee i find that the electronic shifter is a problem area. It is difficult to tell where the selector is without looking at the indicator. You think it is in drive and its in neutral, and you would be unable to make a move quickly in an accident situation (like the woman in the mercedes ml hit by a train in ny). Worse you think it is in park and you want to get out with the engine still running, say to get the mail out of my mail box, only to find out it is reverse and starts to move as you go to get out. This has happened to me on several occasions. The 2016 is supposed to fix this, perhaps going back to the mechanical system which is definitive. That fix ought to be retrofitted to the 2014 and 2015 models. Other than this issue the 2015 diesel gc is one fantastic vehicle. |
