Description of the problem | 2015 jeep grand cherokee shifter is unsafe. Many times over the last year i have mistakenly put the car in reverse instead of park. This is very easy to do. The automatic shifter has no detents, but is an electric switch. When the vehicle goes into reverse, the engine remains running, and it is possible to exit the vehicle thinking it is in park. When this happens the car will roll backward at a very high rate of speed. Something needs to be done to correct this very unsafe condition. It is very easy to think you have it in park when it is actually in reverse. |
