Description of the problem | The owner noticed the rotors looked worn or "gouged" on the rear brakes while washing it. He took it in to replace brake pads. Mechanic discovered that the entire rear braking system was not working. The calipers were "frozen", the pads were completely gone, and rotors had extensive wear and locked into place as well. The front brake rotors showed more wear due to working overtime with lack of rear brakes. Only sign of this prior was it was not slowing down when placed on cruise control, otherwise, front brakes were braking and no sounds were being emitted. Had to replace brake pads, rotors, and brake calipers. Unsure of how long it was in this condition. Only has 28,120 miles on it. |
