Description of the problem | Daughter called in panic, jeep was unable to accept fuel while pumping. I advised her to try another pump, still same problem. Took about 15 minutes to get 5 gallons of fuel in jeep for her to make it home. Took jeep to dealership and stated that a shut off valve in tank had malfunctioned and gas tank needed to be replaced ($1500 parts and labor) and dealership said this was a common problem... Wait what, a common problem, why is there not a recall on something like this? Less than 50k miles and needs a new tank... Dealership said not a safety issue??? Being stuck on i95 at night not being able to get gas is a big safety issue. |
