Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2017 jeep patriot. While driving 75 mph, the transmission warning indicator illuminated, and the vehicle decelerated and lost power. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the road shoulder, waited awhile, restarted the engine, and was able to drive safely. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was then taken to young blood chrysler dodge jeep (3525 s. Camble, springfield, mo 65807, 417-882-3838) where it was determined that if the vehicle was driven over 75 mph, the transmission would overheat. Fluids were placed in the transmission along with a foaming gel for the power train. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 36,000. The vin was unknown. |
