Description of the problem | 2014 kia soul with 2. 0 engine (84,000 miles) suddenly started knocking then locked up going around 60 mph on the highway. This was so sudden that it caused the tires to squeal. If anyone had been behind me there is a great chance it would have caused an accident. Then it unlocked and continued knocking. At no time did any lights come on such as the check engine or oil lights. I pulled off and had the vehicle towed. The dealership informed me that the engine would have to be replaced at a cost $6,000. 00 which is close to the overall value of the vehicle. I am now facing a very difficult financial dilemma and hardship for something beyond my control. |
