Description of the problem | While driving our 2014 kia soul base 2. 0l on the highway at approximately 60mph, the engine suddenly started making a very loud knocking noise. The driver was able to pull off at the next ramp to check the oil. There was no oil on the stick and it had a burnt smell. There oil had been changed by the dealership about 6 weeks prior, and we had no indication that the oil was low, the engine hasn't been smoking, and there was no oil on the ground. The shop has never mentioned our oil being low when we came in for a change. We had the vehicle towed to the dealership. They have since told us the engine needs to be completely replaced. Of course we are just past the warranty with about 109,000 miles on it. |
