Description of the problem | Driving at 55 mph and noticed the passenger airbag light was lit indicating the passenger airbag was disabled. My wife is over 135 lbs and had her seatbelt on. I pulled over and put car in neutral. Did not fix problem. Put in park and restarted car and light went out. This has occurred previously and solution was the same. I took a picture of the light with wife in the seat. Reported to dealership and he said sometimes the onboard computer gets confused and the restart clears the issue. He said the weight was an issue although fed guidelines are 108 lbs. He also said that the seatbelt would do the job and that airbags would only result in injury to the passenger... Told him i was not buying his bs. |
