Description of the problem | The the arms that open the rear liftgate on my pathfinder rusted from the inside out. One day when closing the door it slammed shut suddenly and wouldn't open anymore without someone manually lifting it and holding it open. We contacted the dealership about getting it fixed and we were told the pathfinders rear liftgate has been changed completely and in order to fix ours we need to replace both shocks as well as the operating system...... Which comes in at 1400 dollars before labor....... Obviously there is an issue there is they have completely changed how the door opens and closes! Also, they issued a recall on the nissan rogue around the same time that we got our pathfinder for that same issue with the tailgate..... I'm sure the shocks from those rogues that were recalled must be incredibly similar to the ones in the nissan pathfinder....... |
