Description of the problem | While driving on a city street at ~ 30mph, the hood flew open bending both the front driver and passenger fenders and mangling the seals. The force at which the hood opened nearly broke the windshield and did not allow for the driver to see out of any part of the window requiring an immediate stop. There was no indication on the dashboard that the hood was ajar. In doing some research, there is a recall on the same year/make/model but none associated with this vin. While the driver and no other vehicles were involved in the accident, this issue had the potential to injury or kill someone if this had happened on the highway or on a busier road. |
