Description of the problem | Exhaust manifold bolts broke and studs remained in manifold. Exhaust leaked in engine bay. Was told by nissan dealer that possible affixiation could result from running the ac and the exhaust leak created by the broken bolts. There was a quest there with the same problem. Had quest fixed elsewhere. When doing oil change a month later, another quest with same problem. Was told by nissan mechanic and my mechanic that this is extremely common in the van. There should be a recall done on the exhaust leak. According to the nissan dealer, the emmisions could be non odorous and may not be detected by smell. I feel this is equally or even more dangerous thena the fuel vent problem because this is invisible. At least you could smell the gas leak and see the gas on the ground.*ak |
