Description of the problem | The car is very difficult to start after sitting. I have a number of friends with similiar complants with the quest and the sister mercury van. All the solutions have been with the replacement of the fuel pump. Most of these people have had this replaced between 40 and 70k miles. The pump is located in the fuel tank. If the gas level drops to low then the pump becomes damaged as it heats up and/or sucks air. I think this is design problem, and am wondering if other people have produced this complaint. *ak |
