Description of the problem | While driving 80 miles per hour on a wyoming interstate, my 2012 nissan rogue shut off the cruise control and would not accelerate even while pushing the gas pedal to the floor. The car would only accelerate to 65 mph and would not reset to normal speeds or acceleration patterns until i pulled off the side of the road and let it cool down for 15-30 minutes. The nissan dealerships in fort collins, colorado and billings, montana said this issue arose in several nissan rogues of different years. Nissan fixed 2010 and earlier models on their dime, but have not paid for replacing the transmission coolers with larger coolers for the 2011 or later models. There has not been a recall for the transmission coolers in 2012 nissan rogues up to this point. |
