Description of the problemThere is a known default with the year and make of vehicle i own, yet nissan has failed to issue a recall, even though it could result in death. When driving the vehicle for 1. 5 hours or more at speeds of 65 mph or greater, the transmission overheats, and causes you to lose acceleration and power. I lost power on the parkway, was unable to move from the right lane, i couldn't even make it to the shoulder before losing all ability to accelerate my vehicle. Nissan recommends adding an external part to the transmission to cool the transmission fluid, but the part is more than $700. I would think that this issue would be very similar to the issue with the chrysler ignition switches. If i am driving my car 70 mph or more on the interstate, and suddenly lose power, i am likely going to get hit, and if the other vehicles are traveling 70 mph or more, that is going to cause very serious injuries at the very least. There are many, many complaints about this known issue on nissan forums.
